Three-Phase Process

Our three-tiered process for green building consulting was designed to offer a flexible, customizable approach to fit any project size or budget. Here is an overview of how the process works:

Phase 1: Pre-Construction

  • Initial interview the homeowner, or confer with the architect or contractor regarding needs, priorities, and parameters.
  • Review the plans, and existing home; prepare and present a tiered list of recommendations to bring the building up to EarthCraft house or other defined standards.
  • We can provide pre-construction performance testing on existing homes to assure that upon completion the house will meet the goals set with the owner, contractor, or architect.

Phase 2: Construction

  • We visit the job site at various, predetermined milestones to monitor the green building process and make any necessary suggestions or corrections.
  • Submit site visit reports with observations and recommendations.
Phase 3: Post-Construction
  • We provide close-out services and, at the client’s request, final testing of the house and mechanical systems.
  • Certification under EarthCraft House, NAHB National Green Building Standard, LEED for Homes, Energy Star, or DOE Builders Challenge is available for interested homeowners or contractors.
